Dylan Hanwell has a diverse practice area with a focus in family law and criminal defence, while maintaining an active interest in administrative and public law, as well as estate law. He is also enrolled with Legal Aid Alberta, as a roster lawyer for family law and criminal law matters. Before joining the firm in 2022, Dylan articled and practiced general commercial litigation at a national law firm in Edmonton.

Growing up just outside of Edmonton in Pigeon Lake, Alberta, Dylan moved to Edmonton to obtain both his undergraduate and law degree at the University of Alberta. During his legal studies, he was a member of the winning Gale Cup Moot team in 2019, a national criminal-constitutional moot, and went on to represent Canada in the 2019 Commonwealth Law Moot in Zambia, where his team won the competition. During law school, Dylan also volunteered with the Student Legal Services (SLS) Criminal Law Project, and was a member of the Litigators hockey team.

Dylan serves as a volunteer lawyer with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, and in his spare time outside of practice, Dylan is an avid cook and cyclist.
